The Battle Dress Uniform, or BDU, was the standard issue military uniform that the US government provided to its soldiers from 1981, replacing the Desert Camouflage Uniform (DCU), until 2007, when it was replaced by the Army Combat Uniform (ACU). BDU pants were one of the main components of the official Battle Dress Uniform set and were worn by all branches of the US military in combat situations. BDU pants were designed to offer the wearer maximum range of motion and comfort to ensure soldiers overall performance.
