More Details: The ASEK Survival Knife System is ACU Digital in color. The Ontario ASEK-AircrewTM Survival Egress Knife includes a sheath and a strap cutter multi tool. The knife 5" blade is made of 0.1875" thick 1095 carbon steel with zincphosphate finish which makes it rust resistant. The blade has a serrated edge and saw teeth on its spine. The total length of the knife is 10.25". Hardness is of the measure of RC 50-54. The system has 1 piece molded handle with spear holes which is molded all over the guard. Behind the knife is a strap cutter multi tool whose handle is made of high strength machined aluminium whick inhibits it from melting or shattering. The strap cutter blade can be replaced. There is a lanyard hole and glass breaker on the butt cap and this system has a nylon sheath which is flame retardant and includes special kydex inserts, 2 leg protectors and straps for attachment. The system contains 2 oxygen valves and shackle wrenches along with a lanyard and bead for easy locating. Made in the US, this is the one and only survival/egress knife chosen by the US Army to be included in its Air Warrior Equipment System.
